Manner of fastening
Fastening cement-bonded particle boards (CBPB) in Kaliningrad
A panel is fixed to the supporting structures with some screws and special nails. All kinds of connecting elements should have an anti-corrosion coating.
Attention! Before installing CBPB, you need to make sure that the frame elements are vertical and horizontal. The frame elements should be in the same plane.
FASTENING CBPB WITH NAILS
To fix the plates it is necessary to use special galvanised nails with a diameter of 2.5 mm. The size of the nails is selected from the condition that the length of the restrained part is not less than twice the thickness of the c sheet and not less than 10 nail diameters (see Table).
The minimum size of nails and screws depending on the thickness of CBPB
To ensure that CBPB are correctly attached from the technological point of view, it is necessary to observe the space between the fastening elements of the distances between them and the board edges.
CBPB FASTENING WITH NAIL SCREWS
It is recommended to drill the holes for screws with cavities for their heads with a diameter of 1.2 times larger than that of the screw.
For fixing the boards without pre-drilling holes, you can only use special self-tapping screws, with a hardened point and a countersunk head equipped with blades to form a groove suiting its dimensions.
For fixing the boards to the frame, it is possible to use screws intended for gypsum boards. The size of the screws is selected from the condition that the length of the clamped part is not less than twice the thickness of the CBPB sheet and not less than 10 diameters of the screw (see item 5.1). The distance between the screws is selected according to the scheme described in 5.1.
For professional fastening it is recommended to use screw guns with pneumatic or electric drive.
JOINT (PLACEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION)
Tamak CBPB, like any wooden material, under the change of humidity undergo the compression and stretching processes. Therefore, a large number of joints (small format of boards) leads to a slight displacement of the boards, and a small number of joints (large format of boards) leads to a more significant displacement.
Displacements are suspended by fixing the boards in the seam itself. In the course of years of board testing, a board compression tendency, which should be given special attention when making closed seams, was identified.
In order to prevent the formation of cracks in the construction mix for sealing joints, the width of the closed and visible compensation joint should be 8 mm for the external use and 4 mm for the inner use.
The most reliable and simple solution from the installation, technical and aesthetic point of view is an unclosed and visible compensation joint with a width of 4-8 mm.
Attention! CBPB plates are delivered from the factory with a moisture content of 9+3%.
Before installation plates should be protected against moisture.
EDGES AND SEAMS
In choosing the method of constructing the edges and seams it is very important to focus on the external and internal climate and especially the moisture effect. Possible designs of the edges and joints are quite diverse. The most common solutions are presented below.
